No shot of Tom Welling in Superman suit on the Smallville finale?

How dumb was that?No shot of Tom Welling in Superman suit on the Smallville finale?Yeah, I just watched it off CW23's site and was disappointed over that. I know the series was about Clark becoming Superman but I still think it would have been nice to get one clear image of him in the suit either standing or perhaps hovering somewhere when all it seemed we got was CGI and him wearing the top for the final shot.

There are quite a few threads out there of such chat (one added in the source) with different speculations over it, but I haven't found any with any actual reason listed as to why they ran it the way they did. Main reasons I've read so far though...

1) Tom Welling didn't want to wear tights (sounds messed up for someone bound to play Superman)

2) The suit just didn't fit (sounds messed up as I'd except they'd make the suit to fit him, unless they maybe borrowed the one from Superman Returns or a costume shop for some reason?)

3) Welling was afraid of the "Superman Curse" (2nd source on the curse).

4) Warner Brothers/DC didn't want a full on image of him in the suit. Biggest reason listed for this is that with Superman Returns and now a new upcoming Superman film in the works, they didn't want confusion or too many people actually shown wearing the cape (or something like that, I admit I didn't read too strongly into that one)

Generally I'm kind of happy (and a bit sad) that the series is over and that we at least got to see Welling flying a bit and at least a CGI Superman flying around for a moment.

Edit: "It also makes me think why they bothered to rent the Returns suit at all." Other threads have stuff like that too, but it seems people are saying that was the Superman Returns suit (lack of budget maybe to make one to fit Welling?). So it helps with the "suit doesn't fit" idea though. it will affect/hurt his career

its to do with his ego

that the show didnt have permission from DC comics

I mean we will probably never know but maybe...
