etc.Does the original comic book superman choose Lois lane or lana lang?It's a little complicated because there are essentially three incarnations of Superman, representing the different eras during which the comic book has been published. Like many comic-book characters, the Superman story has changed with the times, and been updated over the years.
The ORIGINAL Superman, known as the "Golden Age" Superman, the one created in 1938, eventually married Lois Lane, but this was not shown in the 1930's-1940's books, only in modern depictions of the Superman from that era.
In the mid 1950s, the editors at DC decided to give their characters a clean slate. Starting with The Flash in 1956, it became apparent to ignore the previous continuity of the Golden Age of Comic Books and separate the two as different timelines. The Superman seen in the 1950's is now called the "Silver Age" Superman, and I don't believe that he ever settled down.
After DC instituted its multiverse system in the early 1960s for organizing its continuity, it was deemed that the Lois of the Golden Age comics (i.e., comics published from 1938 through the early 1950s) lived on the parallel world of "Earth-Two" versus the then-mainstream (Silver Age) universe of "Earth-One." A series of stories in The Superman Family #195-199 %26amp; #201-222 titled "Mr. and Mrs. Superman" presented the further adventures of the now-married Lois and Clark.
The "Silver Age" Lois Lane never married Superman, though she was married several times in the Superman stories of this era �?to other characters such as Batman and Jimmy Olsen. She also married a convicted criminal on death row (and various Superman pastiches). All these marriages were either annulled or otherwise forgotten.
In 1983, following the DC Crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths", Superman's history was re-booted, or started over, by writer/artist John Byrne. They re-told his origin, and basically threw out 45 years of Superman continuity. Though there have been some minor changes made over the years to Superman's origin, and the DC Cross-Worlds continuity, the 1983 Superman is essentially the current character. The current Superman character is married to Lois Lane.
So, Golden Age (original) Superman - married Lois.
Silver Age Superman - never married.
