Why is Superman vulnerable to Kryptonite?

It doesn't make any sense. How is it that his home planet is made up of Kryptonite yet he is vulnerable to it? Isn't it like saying most of the planet Earth is covered with water, yet water is very harmful to humans? Why is Superman vulnerable to Kryptonite? When Krypton blew up what survived of it was either radioactive or was changed to be radioactive. Superman is affected by things from his home world in a variation of the old vampire legend where the undead require soil from their homeland to lie in. This is an old pulp SF trope -- Schuster, Siegel and two editors who helped shape the character named Mort Weisinger and Julie Schwartz were BI-IG pulp SF fans. Why is Superman vulnerable to Kryptonite?cuz kryptonite says " choo " "boom " "boom" "boom" "choo" "die superman" "DIE !!! " "cho" " cho" "Boom" "boom"

BQ: I like grandma in cheese

oh and water is harmful to you . If it gets in your lungs it becomes a big old fat slug and eats your lungs til you die in horrible agony in your car.Why is Superman vulnerable to Kryptonite?it's RADIOACTIVE pieces of krypton

you know, like how some substances are radioactive to humans
