but since 86's Crisis/Man of Steel reset I think they established that for him to breathe in space would be like a person breathing underwater.
If he fills his lungs and holds his breath he'd last as long as the air in his lungs, but obviously if he were to be fighting he couldn't hold his breath effectively. Now obviously his lung capacity is far greater than ours and I believe the human record for holding ones breath underwater is like 5 minutes give or take so you'd have to get out the proportion conversion chart.
I'd wager 1/2 an hour, maybe a full one.
so far as I know everything 'Post Crisis' has operated on this rule, save for TV's 'Lois and Clark' (which the creator stated was her creative choice for production reasons)How far into space can Superman fly?i think he'll only be able to go as far as the limits of air....
but wait, did he go to his planet by himself in "superman returns"??? i really don't know...if he did, then he will be able to go anywhere until he dies of exhaustion or just up to the atmosphere limit!!!How far into space can Superman fly?well he has been shown to fly to pluto in modern versions. but silver age superman was able to reach pretty much any planet and was able to fly through time
