Was Superman ever naturalized to be a US citizen?

He arrived as an undocumented alien. Did he ever acquire US citizenship? If so, when and how?Was Superman ever naturalized to be a US citizen?good call, especially in light of the fuss being made...

as Clark Kent he is a US Citizen.. 86's Man of Steel arc was the canon origin for nearly 20 years and it stated that Kal-El was technically gestating during the trip, and that he was 'born' when the ship opened on Earth... as such the Kents claimed him as their biological child... and claimed that he was Born on the Farm just before a Major snow storm and claiming they kept the pregnancy hidden from family due to past losses... and as such CK has a Birth Certificate

-- recent canon revisions have gone back to the "CK is adopted" version and have also revisited the idea that the Kents, upon finding him, perhaps after a meal and some family time, take him to the local Child Services office (Orphanage in the old versions) and begin the process of adoption... I'd imagine as an infant foundling the CS staff would have created the paperwork to document him... (Fair skin, dark hair, Blue eyes, in the heart of KS: assumptions would be made...)

however I do not believe it has ever been depicted that Superman, spandex clad demi-God ever actually went through a citizenship process... and since to the Public he is 2 people he'd have had to do so if only for show, to benefit public perception... again calling back to 86's MoS.. I think at most, they had the Mayor of Metropolis deputize him so as to arrest Lex for some stunt hat he pulled...

so yes, The comics have never actually shown, or to my knowledge stated, that he went through the process to be naturalized... at most I'd wager that much like his being Deputized by the Mayor.. IF he was Naturalized it was a case of the President likely signing off on a document as a PR stunt for a Ceremony to Thank Superman for one of his Many acts of heroism on US Soil, or on behalf of the US interest (as I understand it, IRL servicemen and women can be fast-tracked for naturalization, but it isn't a rubber stamp)

and now he has given up his status as a US Citizen to prevent his actions from being seen as the will/command of the US Govt. -- I'd liken it to a US Govt Employee who lives works in another country who does something against the Law and foreign policy for personal reasons...

IE a US office Drone at an embassy gets involved in a love triangle with a Foreign Official and the person they love... if the romance goes nuclear and the Drone kills the official and runs away with the lover their actions could be seen as an elaborate assassination plot... granted my analogy is far more tawdry and less altruistic than anything Superman would do.. but it highlights the blurred line between the actions of the person, and their actions in the role of Government Agent. Was Superman ever naturalized to be a US citizen?
the crux of the whole thing lies in his having 2 Identities...as CK everything is relatigvely above board and was done through the proper channels.. however Superman has no real documentation.. and arguably the act of being Documented as Superman would constitute Fraud as he already has papers as CK

Was Superman ever naturalized to be a US citizen?Did his parents officially adopt him? If so, he'd have become a US citizen then.

They also almost certainly didn't _tell_ anyone he'd arrived as an undocumented alien. He'd have officially been an abandoned baby, in the middle of the US. I don't think he'd need to be naturalised - the assumption would be that he was born there. Was Superman ever naturalized to be a US citizen?
The Kents claimed Clark Kent was their natural son,so in the eyes of the government he was
born a U.S. citizen. Since nobody knows who Superman really is, he shouldn't have any citizenship
as Superman. I mean,Clark Kent could vote on Election Day but you would never see Superman
at the voting booth. What proof of ID could he give? He could display his powers but he would have no documents.

This is the sort of thing comics don't usually get into. Was Superman ever naturalized to be a US citizen?Thinking back to my comic book days, I seem to remember that Superman was made a Citizen of the US in honor of all the fighting he did "... for the American Way"! As a child, he was assumed adopted (the rules were much more simplified back then). As Superman, no one knew who he was as a child. Come to think of it, he never did show us his birth certificate. Call Donald Trump!!!Was Superman ever naturalized to be a US citizen?
Amazing question. He was found as a baby/small child but the kents didn't just give him a social security number...how would he have one? How would he have the job at the daily planet?
