Why does the superman products all suck now?

I mean like i thought he sucked to because of the animated series then i read the comics and hes like now my faviorate superhero. But why cant a director put that into a movie like im not saying i can do better but like come on its like they dont even make him super compared to his comic.Why does the superman products all suck now?probably because like everything else, they don't want to get too close to the comic plot.
