When Superman first appeared in comics, what were his powers?

Seems like these days, there is little he can't do. Shooting lasers out of his eyes, moving at Flash like speeds.

But in the early days, I figure he flew, was very strong, and practically invincible save for Kryptonite of course. Did he have X-ray vision back in the day?When Superman first appeared in comics, what were his powers?Back in th 30's these were his powers:

* Enhanced Strength, speed, endurance, and stamina.

* Durability

* Superhuman control of face muscles.

* Telescopic Vision

* Super-sensitive hearing

He couldn't fly yet. He could only jump very high and far.When Superman first appeared in comics, what were his powers?Let me check the very first issue...

Yes.

It explicitly mentions he can leap tall buildings in a single bound, he can lift great weights and he can outrun a locomotive - and "nothing less than a bursting shell" can pierce his skin. He can't actually fly, and he has no special sensory abilities, let alone freezing breath or heat vision.

Also: Superman's speed may be Flash-like, if the Flash goes all-out, he is faster.When Superman first appeared in comics, what were his powers?Johny M is right for the earliest powers... Funny thing is later on superman was also able to control ants and could shoot rainbows... no joke lol
