Who's more powerful, better yet who could win with no Kryptonite involved, Superman or the Silver Surfer?

well my friend and i had a long argument on this tonight over some beers. hes a big comic book fan and says that silver surfer was granted entire cosmic power by galactus and cannot be defeated and if he wanted to could create a sun inside of superman and woop him. however if no kryptonite is involved could superman win?Who's more powerful, better yet who could win with no Kryptonite involved, Superman or the Silver Surfer?well, Norrin Radd wasn't granted entire cosmic power by Galactus - only a small portion (never make anybody stronger than yourself).



Silver Surfer hands down, no contest.

Ok, they both have super strength and super speed. Surfer does not require food, water, air or even sleep - Superman being humanoid Kyrptonian needs all those things (sure he can survive for a while without those, but not for a prolonged period of time). Surfer can recreate anything out of existing matter or energy - Superman can turn coal into diamonds (yawn). Surfer has the power cosmic - Superman relies on a yellow sun. If Surfer takes Superman into the vicinity of a red sun (one of Superman's weaknesses), then the fight is immediately over. He could probably turn a yellow star (like our sun) into a red one if he wanted to. Surfer can phase through solid objects which means that Superman would be hard pressed to land a punch.



And Surfer has that almost indestructible surf board - which can be used as a (remote) weapon - Norrin can just stand back and let the board batter Kal El.



Power cosmic versus heat vision, cold breath, super strength, speed, etc? Power cosmic every time. One big cosmic blast and it's over. Or Norrin could just turn Kal El into a cheese sammich by manipulating his atoms.Who's more powerful, better yet who could win with no Kryptonite involved, Superman or the Silver Surfer?The Surfer wins this one.

Silver Surfer: Superspeed(faster Superman in pure speed as he travels between worlds easily, Superstrength(has fought Hulk with no problems), almost indestructible, all manner of energy blast, ability to manipulate matter on a molecular level, and the power cosmic.

Some don't understand the power cosmic. Surfer could scan our planet and find Superman in seconds. He could scan Superman's physiology and determine that yellow sun strong: red sun weak, kryptonite very weak. Then he either transports them to an galaxy with red sun, creates red sun energy while blocking yellow sun energy or simply turns Superman's costume into kryptonite.Who's more powerful, better yet who could win with no Kryptonite involved, Superman or the Silver Surfer?Silver Surfer has the Power Cosmic, and can augment his powers to be beyond a god's. He's also so indestructible that he can stand in the heart of a super nova, and not even feel it. Sorry, dude, but he could K.O. Superman without even working up a sweat. Heck, he can control any and all matter, if he so desires, on a molecular level, and turn Blue Boy into a statue, really, it's no contest.Who's more powerful, better yet who could win with no Kryptonite involved, Superman or the Silver Surfer?
