Ok so i dont know alot about superman but this question always has puzzled me. My understanding is that kryptonite comes from the planet krypton and that is where superman comes from too; so then why does it hurt him if it is from his home planet? and sometimes it sounds as if the whole planet was made out of the stuff..If kryptonite is from krypton then why does it hurt superman?I can understand why you are confused if you don't know much about the complicated Superman mythos. Krypton exploded, just moments after the infant Kal-El (who became known as Superman on Earth) was launched into space in an experimental rocket by his father, Jor-El. Krypton exploded because some improbable natural process caused it to undergo fission and become an unstable radioactive mass, which means that Krypton was destroyed by a nuclear explosion which the planet itself somehow caused (I didn't say the mythos made sense). Obviously, not all of Krypton was completely destroyed since fragments of that gigantic world have made their way to Earth. Unfortunately for Superman, the fragments of his home world were made radioactive by the fission effect and it is the radiation which is deadly to Superman. For some unknown and unlikely reason, kryptonite radiation doesn't effect Eathlings (the sole exception was Lex Luthor, who wore a ring with a piece of kryptonite set in it like a precious stone, during John Byrne's run on the various comic books featuring Superman in the late eighties and early nineties; Luthor's prolonged exposure to the kryptonite gave him a form or exotic cancer which forced him to have his hand amputated and replaced with a mechanical hand in a storyline which is no longer considered canon to the Superman mythos).
I hope that helps you understand the concept, which is science fantasy and does not make much sense but the basic concept was conceived by a young writer over sixty years ago and probably seemed plausible for the first decade or so it was used.If kryptonite is from krypton then why does it hurt superman?
the same metaphysical variations that make Superman super on Earth are what affects the fragments of Krypton (likely only one element, or one for every color of Kryptonite), to make them fatal to him and him alone (save for the prolonged exposure that took Lex's hand in the 80's)If kryptonite is from krypton then why does it hurt superman?they are radioactive pieces from his homeland...when he was in his ship or (whatever u wanna call it) it sort of protected him...but that kryptonite thing didnt get into the comics until 1949 the superman radio series in the 40s created it! lol i love superman as u can tell.
on superman's home planet the had no powers but cause there was kryptonite in the planet but if there wasn't like earth they would have power they never knew they had like in the first superman movie (I think it was the first 1) the 3 people who tried to kill superman found out they had powers If kryptonite is from krypton then why does it hurt superman?Kryptontie is hidden inside the planet krypton so when superman was blasted away from his home planet, the pieces of kryptonite in the planet also flew down with himIf kryptonite is from krypton then why does it hurt superman?
thats because the sun make an effect diferent in her
this is a very good question, even though i don't know the answer to it. i want to know as wellIf kryptonite is from krypton then why does it hurt superman?
