Raiden would win by far because first of all he is a god and could fly and shot lightning out of his hands. Superman is a hero and would lose because he relies on his powers too much what happens he couldn't use his powers because he is in a corner. If Raiden had kryptonite he would lose easily.

Who would win in an altercation between Raiden (mortal kombat) and Superman?Sorry but there is no way Raiden could emerge victorious. It's actually quite simple, Raiden is susceptible to physical damage from simply being hit, as is demonstrated in Mortal Kombat, which Superman could easily do, and quickly considering his super speed. He's also susceptible to being frozen, which Sub-Zero does to him, Superman could freeze him with his breath, it's been done in comics and movies. However Superman is really only susceptible to Kryptonite, with few exceptions, Raiden does not possess any items sharp enough to cut Superman, and just because he is a god doesn't mean he would win, Superman defeated Darkseid several times, who is also a god. Electricity which is Raiden's primary weapon has never been a weakness of Superman's. Even Raiden's ability to teleport wouldn't help, as Superman has negated that power before when he battled bloodsport, by heating the air around the person/object teleporting.The only thing Raiden might be able to do is call forth a storm to block the sun and eventually deplete Superman's solar energy, but that would take so long the fight would be long over.
Sorry but Raiden would definitely not win.
Edit: I just remembered that Superman does have one other weakness, magic. So if Raiden's lightning bolts are magic, as opposed to regular lightning bolts conjured by magic, he may have a chance, I still think superman is fast enough to avoid that attack, but at least Raiden would have an attack that can hurt Superman and give him a fighting chance.
Raiden may be a god, but the gods of the Mortal Kombat-verse seem to be a bit lacking in divinity, compared to, say, your average mainstream religion god.
It goes to Superman, who is superior to ANY Mortal Kombatant in terms of raw power and durability.
Mind you. Superman is less invulnerable to magic than to most other things. If that lightning Raiden fires is more than simple electricity, he might have a shot.

Again, Raiden is a god... you can't kill a god, I mean it just doesn't seem logical. He can also teleport and fly... yeah... superman is cool and all, but he dresses even more rediculously than raiden.

Well the fact of the matter is raiden would not even come close to emerging victorious. Superman only has two weaknesses, kryptonite and doomsday. Raiden possesses neither which makes superman unstoppable in this epic battle that I would pay money to witness.

Superman would win . Raiden has control over lightning, and Superman is not effected by electricity. Raiden has no offensive power that would effect Superman unless he got a hold of some kryptonite, only then would he be able to defeat Superman.
Even thou raiden is an immortal guy, superman would probabbly win coz he's a lost stronger, faster, %26amp; swifter compared to raiden. plus, superman could even time travel back to the past to prevent raiden from being born...
as much as i hate to say it, it would be superman. raiden is a god but he is able to die. superman is unable to die without kryptonit witch you cant find on earth.
